How is the Strange Oval torque tube system responsible for improving performance on the oval track?

 

The torque tube system from Strange Oval certainly improves control of the car in very high-horsepower oval track racing. Unlike standard driveshaft setups that have rubber isolation mounts, torque tubes enclose the driveshaft inside a tube, forming a direct connection from the transmission to the rear end, thereby improving rigidity of the overall stamped structure. The alignment is much better with these rigid connections, and tramlining due to driveline windup is greatly reduced, resulting in more consistent power application and therefore balancing of the car.

 

As a positive case in point, good for both dirt and asphalt tracks. This prevents unnecessary driveline flex and promotes a chassis that is predictable and responsive during corner transitions. And, more importantly, it allows the suspension to work properly, which allows for traction and corner exit. Some of the other advantages, like reduced maintenance issues, come from designing Strange Oval's systems to take a beating during extreme use. Whether in a Super Late Model or a sprint car, the torque tube system is an important upgrade for faster, more stable, and more repeatable lap times—a very worthy aim for winning teams.
